Atoka-Eagle Creek 115 kV Transmission Line Project

The proposed Xcel Energy Atoka-Eagle Creek 115 kV transmission line project consists of about 25 miles of new 115 kV transmission line between the Atoka Substation about three miles southwest of Atoka, New Mexico and the Eagle Creek Substation located approximately one mile northeast of Artesia, New Mexico.

The project will increase reliable electric service in Eddy County.

On February 19, 2013, the Southwest Power Pool approved a Notice to Construct the project.

The Atoka-Eagle Creek 115 kV transmission project is expected to be in-service in 2018. The estimated cost of the project is $21 million.
